Who we are

We are a volunteer non-profit society formed by Campbell River residents passionate about the ongoing care of the Beaver Lodge Forest Lands.

What we’re currently working on…

  • Ongoing engagement with the Ministry of Forests on long-term funding for the Lands, trail infrastructure projects, and an update to the 1994 Resource Use Plan,

  • Growing our Society membership numbers

  • Providing public education on the history and management of the Lands

  • Creating and updating a trail and infrastructure inventory (including a New Trail Map!)

  • Pony Trail Bridge Replacement

Who we work with…

We work with the provincial government, local government, and other organizations.

Our Purpose, Vision & Mission

  • The purpose of the Beaver Lodge Trust Society is to represent the voice of the “public” as envisioned in the Beaver Lodge Trust Renewal Act , SBC 1993.

  • The Beaver Lodge Trust Society is a valued and enduring community voice for the stewardship of the Beaver Lodge Forest Lands.

    • To advocate for the ongoing stewardship of the Lands.

    • To engage with the local community to determine the desires and values held in regards to the Lands.

    • To educate community members and user groups about the Lands.

    • To work collaboratively with the community, First Nations, educational institutions, local government agencies, and local organizations to care for the Lands.

    • To engage directly with the Ministry of Forests and the Minister responsible for upholding the Beaver Lodge Trust Renewal Act, to collaboratively develop annual and long term operational plans and budgets to reflect the current and future management of the Lands, and to update the Resource Use Plan from time to time.
